Marco Facchin-Clerici, Ph.D.
Any academic career is 90% failures
Here are mine
You're not alone
Pre-Ph.D.
During 2016/2017 I applied to only one (!) Ph.D. program. I managed to get shortlisted for the interview, and then rejected - notably, as the worst candidate and as "unfit for research". Keep up the good work, Milan State University!
During 2017/2018 I applied seven Ph.D. programs. I managed to get shortlisted for the interview in two, and then I was rejected in both.
I managed to enroll in a Ph.D. only because someone else left - and I got offered the position as a plan B.

During the Ph.D.
A countless number of rejected abstract + 8 rejection from mid to good tier journals (Erkenntnis, Mind & Language etc) Some of these rejected paper can be downloaded here, roughly in the version in which they have been rejected.

After the Ph.D.
During 2021/2022 I applied for 17(!!) post-doc & related positions. I managed to get shortlisted 4 times, and won only one a one year fellowship
During 2022/2023 I applied for 19 positions thus far. Got shortlisted thrice. Won one.

Postdoc and after: I have decided to make public where my papers have been rejected. So check on the paper itself to see my respectably long list of rejections.
I will still add any major roadblock here.
